From Malenadu to Your Kitchen
A jar of ghee, a bottle of honey, a packet of spices, or a traditional pickle may look simple on your kitchen shelf. But behind each one is a story of the land, the ingredients, the people, and the traditions that bring it to life.
For Hebbail, that story begins in Malenadu, the lush, rain-rich region of Karnataka's Western Ghats, known for its forests, farms, hills, and rich food traditions.
More Than Just Ingredients
At Hebbail, we believe that good food begins with knowing where it comes from. That means looking beyond the finished product and understanding the ingredients and traditional practices behind it.
Milk from indigenous cattle can become ghee through the familiar journey of milk, curd, butter, and ghee. Forests provide honey shaped by the flowers and seasons around them. Coconuts are transformed into oil, while sugarcane, spices, fruits, and other local produce find their way into traditional foods.
Each ingredient has its own journey, but they share a connection to the land and the people who have worked with these foods for generations.
A Taste of Tradition
Food here is closely tied to the seasons and the way ingredients are prepared. Traditional methods such as churning curd into butter, making jaggery from fresh sugarcane juice, pressing coconut for oil, collecting forest honey, and preserving seasonal produce are part of a food culture that continues to inspire us.
These aren't simply old methods. They are part of the story behind many of the foods we know and enjoy today.
From Our Roots to Your Kitchen
The journey doesn't end when an ingredient leaves the farm, forest, or grove. It continues when it reaches your home and becomes part of an everyday meal.
That connection is what Hebbail hopes to preserve, bringing together the ingredients, flavours, and traditions of this region and sharing them with kitchens beyond it.
As our range grows, there will be more products and more stories to tell. But the idea remains simple: stay connected to where food begins, respect the traditions behind it, and bring that connection to your kitchen.
From the Western Ghats to your everyday table, this is the story behind Hebbail.
